He must still be sleeping this morning cause he was so excited last night. We went to Denton last night to get some runs in. We did 3 heads up runs and there is a debate on who won the last won. We both had a win under our belt 1-1 when we raced in the heads up. The race in question really is pissing me off. I ran a 8.1 with a reaction time .45 (red light), he ran a 7.97 but with a .8 reaction. I beat him down the track by a car and a half but he got the win. Even the people at the tack were confused. In heads up racing does a red light cause a automaic loss or do you add the red light time .05 in my case to my time? Since I red lighted I conceeded and he moved on and ended up winning the shirt and free pass. There were 10 Vetts and Fbodys racing in the heads up. I did learn something last night, drag radials will beat street tires almost every time, esp in the 1/8! My best 60 was 1.86 but I spun alot when it shifted from 1st to 2nd which caused a 8.1. Gary just keep getting better with a best of 1.73 and a 7.90. Even with his better times my mph was about 2 mph faster than his so in the 1/4 I should be able to make up a 10th or 2. Overall it was fun to watch and run. I really wanted to see Gary in the DRESS. BTW: Gary has a awesome wife for that alone he deserves some props!
FWIW...I wouldn't worry about the 1/8 times..the 1/8 mile is only good for practicing the launch and improving the 60' times .....Not much else...otherwise just have fun!
Now ..get to a real track and let's see what you can do.. :smash:
Good Post and it was really fun. We are both competative and it makes racing even more fun. Scott played football in college for Lousiana , so I can't talk too much stuff or he might crush me :smash: .
We will do it again after you get your Nitto DR's. That was a tough one to loose and you did cross the line 1st in that race.
Take it easy.
The Bandit.................. :D

Damn Scott I thought you were faster than that  I have gotten my best of a 6.93@101 with a 1.58 60'. :jester Bring it on up here to wichita falls we have a new 1/8 track.
There were several cars running in the 6's last night. I think they were spraying though. his area has too many fast cars, there were only 3 Vettes there that night including me and Scott.
What do you have to have to run 6's like you did? The Bottle? What is your HP/TQ #'s? Just curious. Most of the guys running in the 6's were spraying.

Oh I was just giving Scott a hard time. My hp/tq without nitrous is 380/370. But I am sure that went down some with the converter,3.42s and flp tranny install. I run 7.5x on motor @ 91 and then with the 150 shot I go to the 6.9x @101.I have my own home ported heads and a small 216/218 .556/.559 114lsa cam
But I hope to be close to the same mark with the addition of the 408. :blueangel:
Those are good numbers. A 7.5 is fast. It seems you have to almost have nitrous to get into the 6's. I am usually not a big 1/8 mile drag racer, but it is close to my house. I should have got heads while I was doign the cam, but I didn't. Heck, I didn't even get LT Headers yet. Nitrous is tempting, but I am not sure I want it. I just went for a ride in my buddies car today and it was FAST, he runs 7.67 without nitrous and hasn't been to the track since he added it. It is a firehawk though and has heads and Cam etc.
Hey man, how is your 408 motor coming along? got the heads yet?
I canceled the order for them.I am just gonna use my current heads for now. just have to wait for some more money to come in.I spent all my money on a boat the other day. Here is what it looks like. This one isnt mine though.
