Is it possible to drop a 502 crate engine into a C5? I realize, of course, that technically it's possible to drop the turbine from a jet fighter into a C5, but I mean with little to no modification :D
With the HP and TQ that some of the tuner's superstrokers are making, there is no real need to drop a Big Block in a C5. It would just add a ton of weight.
You can get ~500rwhp/~500rwtq (~600hp/~600tq) out of most of the tuner's superstroker 418-442ci motors and I doubt you would see any more out of a BBC without slapping a real undrivable cam in it. And lets not forget about the big carb you would have to deal with sitting on top of the BBC.
Yes, there was a guy about 4 years ago who started a company that installed 502 that made about 520hp and ran mid-low 11's. It was in Vette or Vette Fever, I think. At the time that was pretty fast for a C5. Maybe someone has an old mag they can find it in.
