Not sure what the problem is... I was on my way home from a race on Sunday and my car started to sound very strange. I only race a couple of times a year and my car ran really well, to hot to set a personal best but she ran well.
Sort of a muffled sound, which was accompanied by a decrease in power. No lights, no codes. She does not want to idle well at all.
I have about 70K on her and she is maintained very, very well. I am hoping for something simple like bad gas or plugged fuel filter or plugged cats.
Any other ideas?
She sure look sad on the truck with her new personalized plates "DARNFST"
I had just oiled the filter so, I thought that I may have excess oil on the wires of the MAF. I removed from the Throttle body back cleaned and replaced. It did not make a difference.
Cha Cha, haven't seen you post on the forum for a while
Hope you get it fixed quickly. Check all of the connections for leaks if you took the filter off. Also check that nothing got sucked up into the ProFlow+. I ran over a plastic bag on the highway once and it acted the same way. The plastic had wrapped itself around most of the K & N filter.
Sounds like it could be a valvespring as well. I see you have a heads and cam package done. Do you know what valvesprings were used in your heads? There were many bad batches of valvesprings from a few different companies over the last couple years. Also, valvesprings are a maintenance item when you run an aftermarket camshaft. I would say at least once every two years depending on how much you drive it.
