I should receive my TRAP this weekend and wanted to see if anyone out there has intalled one yet. Any pointers or anything I should know before doing it? I don't have ramps or a jackstand. Will I be able to do the install without raising it? Thanks.
The install is no problem -- very straight forward. In fact, there are instructions on the web -- the link was posted on one of these threads by Jim Hall -- search for 'Halltech' and you should be able to find it.
(I am assuming that you have an LS1, and not a Z06...)
My only suggestion is to either cut out your stock fog-light shrouds, or purchase some modified ones that have breather vents in them. The location of the filter in the nose cone of the car does not get adequate ventilation without the vents.
Also, I made some ramps from 2X10's from Home Depot for like 10 bucks or something. I just used a circular saw, cut the pieces at a 45 degree angle, stacked them on top of one another, and screwed them together -- lifts the car like 4" or something. You should **NOT** need this for the Halltech install, but are nice to have for other stuff.
Thanks DC. Yea, I have an LS1. I think I'll try your ramp idea. Might help with removing the fog light inserts. I need to get some screens now. I'm curious to see the difference with the Halltech. My car should be a pretty good test because it's basically stock except for the exhaust and intake. For now!

That is the only mod I have done to mine, and it gave me 15RWHP **before** I installed the cold-air vents and the LS1 EDIT.
I bought some custom inserts from 21st Century Muscle Cars that are made from the original GM fog-light shrouds. They have large holes cut in them and screens attached to the back. They were very affordable, and maintained the stock look of my LS1. In fact, unless you are specifially looking for the vent holes, they are totally unnoticeable.
I bought a 10-ft board, and made three cuts with the saw -- to have two 18" pieces and two 42" pieces. That way the first section was long enough for the tire to touch it without hitting the front air dam thing. Took like 10 minutes!! I have a floor jack, but it would not fit under the car without these ramps.
