I am having several eletrical grimlins effecting my brake lights and they "seem" to be centered around my EURO light harness. My car is a '98 and another member with an '03 is having exactly the same issues I am even after replacing the wiring harness. Note, the EURO lights have been on car for over 6 months with no issues.
Summary of problems:
1 - Push brakes and fog lights come on and dtd lights go off
2 - Cruise control does not work when lights are on
3 - When setting alarm it goes off immediately upon closing door, or setting if door is already closed.
Once the problem starts I can pull over and wiggle the EURO light harness and the problem will go away until later. The crazy part is I can be in the car parked in garage and the brake lights will work fine. Come back an hour later to go off and they don't work.
Could it be a bad ground? I have checked the harness and rechecked the harness for shorts. I can't find any expose wires. Anyone else had similar problems or have any ideas?
Re: Eletrical grimlins effecting brake lights - HELP (John's vette)
I think I might have a similar issue with my turnsignals. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. When they don't, I let it sit for an hour, come back, and it's fine again...
