OK, guys, really dumb question, but I need help ASAP.
I know you can lower the Z06 by adjusting four bolts, one at each corner. My question is: which way are these turned? Do you bring the lower control arm closer to the leaf spring or push it farther away? Also, I’m told that you have to drive the car around the block to get the new settings to ‘take’. Am confused by why this is necessary.
The front bolts you need to turn it counter-clockwise, like you are trying to loosen it. The rear you need to loosen the nut (make the bolt longer). I does seem to make a difference after you drive a bit, it just helps to get everything setteled.
On the front you want to back out the adjustment bolt (10mm). This brings the lower control arm closer to the spring. You can back them out quite easily if you take the pressure off of the spring with a jack.
On the rear you loosen the nut. This moves the lower control arm away and up from the sping. Leave at least two threads showing on the bolt.
On the front the spring sets above the lower control arm and on the rear the spring sets below the lower control arm.
You then must drive the car around the block a few times to get the suspension to settle. Then get a four wheel alignment.
Also when you do the front the whole bushing turns with the bolt.
If you can see it while you are tuning it you see the bushing turn also.
This is completely normal as the bushing is attached to the bolt.
