I have installed the G5 X2 cam, and will be putting in TPIS headers this week before the tune.
I have 27K miles on my '99
I plan on replacing the plugs, probably with stock plugs.
Should I replace the wires? I recall reading that the stock wires are just as good as the rest of the wires out there, but a friend said they might not hold up to the heat of the headers. If this is true what wires should I get. Autozone has NGK and Bosch wires available. The Bosch have a lifetime warranty, but the people there didn't know anything about eather of them.

I am getting my car tuned next week.

Instead of stock plugs I would suggest the NGK TR55IX plugs. The Delcos aren't very rugged and tend to lose the platinum insert on the bottom electrode. Also the NGX has a much smaller profile at the flame area and uses a very tough metal. http://www.sparkplugs.com/glossary.asp?kw=Iridium
Re: Need help picking wires and plugs (Richin Chicago)
I have had the NGK's and MSD wires for a little over a week and they made a huge difference on my '97. The hunting idle has disappeared totally, seems a little crisper on the pedal as well.
Definitly do not leave them in the car for the 100k as GM claims you can, the ones I took out were practically welded to the heads and they showed serious wear.
Ditto on the NGK TR 55's and MSD wires. Have these on my 2000 C5 over a year. Recommended by Katech contractor who did my head cam pkg. Also, with headers the factory plug shield cans would not fit on mine. MSD wires are the correct length to eliminate burn through which I got with a set of West Coast wires.
The pucks are actually all in tact on my original plugs.
I will look into the NGK plugs, I am probably going to be getting an N20 kit soon, so I might stick with Delcos for now. Is there a price difference? Would it be better to get tuned with the NGK, or will it not really make a difference?
