Well a few of you know I had an issue at the track and bent a couple of pushrods and a connecting rod during my last pass. I decided to build a motor myself. The build went very smoothly with the help of some supporting vendors and a local machine shop.
The motor is my factory block but it has been cleaned up for some new pistons and rings. Assembly went well, all of the clearances were right in spec. Porting the oil pump was pretty easy only taking 10-15 minutes.
I fired the car up last week and came to life. The valvetrain was definitely noisier than before but I am running a slightly different cam. The first 50 miles were pretty easy, taking the car to 4000 getting on the gas at every stop light was definitely fun break in period. Well after 200 miles the motor feels stronger than ever. I am still running dino oil for another 300 mile break in period. Idle is pretty stable, fuel is close but alittle on the rich side. Throttle response is very quick. I am soo excited about getting back to the track. Here is a run down of some parts used:
Diamond Forged -2cc pistons
Eagle H beam ESP rods with upgraded ARP bolts
Clevite rod bearings
Federal mogul main bearings
Comp Cam >230 >.600 ;)
Yella Terra Rockers

I am also in the process of changing the nitrous system. A close friend of mine is an NX dealer and wants to add a pair of NX quad shark nozzles and a 2nd set of solenoids. If the setup holds up it should be pretty crazy having a 100 shot out of the hole and another 150 shot coming online @ 60'.
