Interesting answer...He is asking you for labor charge on the install, so I think he realizes it's not included. Are you saying you don't do installs?

Incorrect. We do commonly perform installs here as turn-key and/or gear changes to a differential only.
The special pricing for the gear set was for those DIY's who install the gears in their housing themselves, hence the special outright sale pricing of ring and pinion set only.
We would be interested in hosting a GP for the CF members and I have already IM'd sd pacecar about it, as it appears he was interested in putting this together for everyone.
Here is what we propose: 1997-2003
DTE Built Differential Assy
- Use your 3 series diff. case
- Internal/External case deburring
- Carrier deburring
- Timken bearings, races, seals and O-ring
- Motive Gear ring & pinion set with your choice of ratio
- 3.42, 3.73, 3.90 and 4.10
- Redline lubricant
- GM limited slip additive
- Exterior painted heat resistant black for corrosion protection and asthetics
- Blueprinted to performance specifications
3-series diff.- $749.00
2-series diff.- $800.00
Mix or match 15 participants
Turn-key Install
Same as above but with additional labor for removal/installation of differantial assy.
- M6 $1299
- A4 $1350 (includes PCM calibration)

Severe Duty 300M steel differential output shaft add to any above: $345
We're open to suggestions as to what everyone would like to see in this. Let us know what you think and thanks for your input. :)

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
In order to get the above deal for $749 (assuming you have 15+ participants)
I send you this dohicky

You'll gut, then replace the gears with what I want (3.90 most likely), keep my old gears and send me the above pic with my new gears installed and ready to be slapped back on to my `Vette?
If that is the case, how long are we talking about?
If I'm not even close as to what is going on, please feel free to make fun of me... (as long as you also include an explanation even *I* can understand). :smash:
Thanks. :)
The only problem with DTE is that they are in Indiana and I'm in CA :( . I'd have to pay to have it shipped both ways ( right DTE? ) which has got to be expensive. About $70 each way I think.

That "dohicky" is called the differential assembly. :)
""You'll gut, then replace the gears with what I want (3.90 most likely), keep my old gears and send me the above pic with my new gears installed and ready to be slapped back on to my `Vette?""
Yes, that is correct.
""If that is the case, how long are we talking about?""
Turn around time for the diff. assy. is one day. We can ship product out until 9pm our time to anywhere in the U.S.
jmzvet-
We ship only FedEx, as they are significantly less expensive than others and the service is just as good. If you ship this way, then you'll still be saving money overall with this GP price.

that's a great deal considering all the extras thrown in:
Internal/External case deburring
- Carrier deburring
- Timken bearings, races, seals and O-ring
- Motive Gear ring & pinion set with your choice of ratio
- 3.42, 3.73, 3.90 and 4.10
- Redline lubricant
- GM limited slip additive
- Exterior painted heat resistant black for corrosion protection and asthetics
- Blueprinted to performance specifications
If this was available when I did my carrier upgrade; I'd of opted for it in a heartbeat. My existing 3.15 carrier only had 3k miles on it. I certainly didn't want to trade it in on another carrier whose case may have had 40k miles on it. That is why I bought a completely new carrier.
This offering allows you to retain your existing carrier casing.
- Carrier deburring
- Timken bearings, races, seals and O-ring

- 3.42, 3.73, 3.90 and 4.10
- Redline lubricant
- GM limited slip additive
- Exterior painted heat resistant black for corrosion protection and asthetics
- Blueprinted to performance specifications
So all I have to do is send you my rear end, pay the $750, and I get the complete unit back, ready to install? It almost sounds too good. Am I missing something? Count me IN if this is correct. SCOTT
