3 Times in the last week (including this morning) I have had the check engine light come on. It's the same code each time. It is P0172 Fuel Trim System Rich bank 1-B.
The car runs fine. I keep resetting it, but it keeps coming back. I'm getting ready to go on the National Caravan in two weeks. Is this serious? Could it just be bad gas? I think I'm still on the same tank.
Well actually, I have... in reverse. I just took off my Vortex Rammer, and put on my stock air box (didn't want to hit standing water on the Caravan), and last weekend I took off my SLP Loudmouths, and put the stock exhaust back on, so I could here our communications radios on the trip.
I use to get this code when I first bought my vette. (i bought it used w/only 300 miles) I found out it had 32lb or 34lb (I can not remember the size) injectors in it. I had original injectors put it and no more code.
An air box or exhust should not cause this code.
I do not know how serious the code is, but any code that causes a check engine light drives me nuts.
I currently have the code P0410 dealer is trying to blame it on the air box which has been on the vette since I bought it. Now 11,000 miles latter I get this code
