I took the car to the dealer (What a mistake - besides them getting into a minor accident but now they are blaming me for things wrong)...
Anyway - I went to pick up the car today and i get in and the SES light is on.... I am like WTF.. so i go back in the dealer and tell him - they take it around back - read the code and clear it.
They tell me that the car is running LEAN and started questioning me, asking if i had the car re-programmed or have a chip or anything.. I tell them NO and they say ok - well the car has been reset so you should be good to go.
I get 10' and the light comes on again. I then went back yet again and the guy informs me i can still drive it like that if i want and i did not think that was a wise idea.
So they still have the car.
My question is: Will the blackwing throw such a code if the PCM is Flashed? They replaced my fuel sending unit and i think they re-flashed the pcm?
The blackwing is the only modification i have to the "engine", i would just hate to see them throw that in my face.
Re: Question about Blackwing and SES light.... (99firetruck)
I installed the blackwing also and would get a light from time to time.Recently bought a-tap(scanner)and my ltft were 18s and 20 plus(very lean) ran good though.I also installed maft to bring the ltft down to 0.In my case I richened it up.BTW it runs smoother and more crisper since maft. :)
Re: Question about Blackwing and SES light.... (99firetruck)
I have the Blackwing on two Vettes and have never had a code of any kind. It may be something the dealer did. However, clear the codes, take it for a ride and see if the PCM will "re-learn" any compensation that is needed. Ten feet will not do it; go for 30-40 miles. Good luck. :yesnod: :)
Re: Question about Blackwing and SES light.... (99firetruck)
I have a Blackwing on my new 2003 Z06. I have gotten the SES light 2 or 3 times now, and gotten the lean code as well. After I reset the code the light goes away. It hasn't been on in a while. I think that when the weather was cooler, it made it more lean. I guess I just need a little LS1 edit action.
Re: Question about Blackwing and SES light.... (gasman29)
I got the car back and they guy say's in a sarcastic manner "Whom ever put your cold intake on did not tighten the clamps after the MAF, Air was getting sucked in and causing the lean condition".
What he say's makes sense, but i know i tightened those things down, plus it did not throw a code until they had the car? coinsidence???
