here is the situation..... I purchased a blackwing from a memeber back in January. he came to my house and installed it for me in a few minutes which great. Few weeks later my car was wrecked. I took the balckwing off prior to the insurance company taking the car. Anyway I replaced the car this week, and I don't think I removed everything from the old car. I have no box or directions. Obviously there is a hose that goes between the the unit and the MAF sensor which I don't have. Can I go to the auto parts store and fit a hose? Also looking at the back of the blackwing there is a hole on the left. what is that for? these cars are 03's if it makes a difference.
Sounds like you need the 01 and up coupler. You will need to pick it up from a forum vendor or member. I think they are 5-10 bucks. The hole for the hose goes to the air smog system pump so it gets nice clean air.
It does sound like you need the coupler. I just instaaled the Blackwing on my '03 Z06 and used/needed it. I don't think you need the hose. Mine didn't have one. I don't think the '02 or '03 had the hose. Seems like the instructions said '01 and back. Hope this helps. I have the instructions if you need them.
Maybe I need to clarify something. You see the little hose on CyberCowboys picture above? The one that runs from either the air filter or MAF up along the air bridge to the bellows or throttle body? They call it a vacum hose. That's the one I think you don't either have or need if yours is an '03. The bigger hose (3/4"), that you can see going into the air filter on CyberCowboys picture, you do need and do have and that is where it goes.
