Default Feedback about your Rearend.

Hello guys, I would like to change the rearend in my:

2002 Corvette Coupe M6

I would like some feedback and information from those of you have done this modification.

What rear end seems to be the best compromise between good low end tourge, yet remaining drivable at highway speeds. I am leaning towards the 3.90, im afraid the 4.10 will run to high of an RPM for highway driving.

Can you recommend a person to install this item in the Atlanta Georiga Area.

Have you guys been happy with your mod, what mod did you go with.

Thanks,

Using torque multiplication, here's what it looks like Trans/Gear:

Trans: MN6/3.42....MN6/3.73....MN6/3.90....MN6/4.10........MN12/3.42
1...........9.09..............9.92...... .......10.37.............10.93.......... ...10.89
2...........6.08..............6.64...... .......6.94...............7.31.......... .....7.08
3...........4.44..............4.85...... .......5.07...............5.34.......... .....4.89
4...........3.42..............3.73...... .......3.90...............4.10.......... .....3.42
5...........2.53..............2.76...... .......2.88...............3.04.......... .....2.87

Your best bang for the buck would be probably the 3.90's, but the MN12 is a great transmission. I would check and seecost & budget, future mod, etc. If you mod up to 400 FWHP, the stock 275 GY runflats have a hard time putting the power to the ground. Lower gearing and mods will exacerbate that situation also. Choose wisely!!

I do alot of freeway travel with my 4.10s. Love them. 75mph is 2000 rpm. The best part is that 6th gear is useable. Never have to downshift unless you're stuck in traffic. The acceleration is awesome. First gear lights up the runflats big time at half throttle if you step on it. Get the 4.10s. They rock. Best mod I've done so far

I just had Dyno-Tech install 4.10's in my 2000 m6 coupe. They are fantastic...60mph 3.42's run at 1300rpm in 6th ... the 4.10's run at 1600 rpm at 60mph in 6th. 80mph is 2100rpm in 6th. I too was worried about the higher rpm at interstate speeds but it just isn't there with the 6 speed..... :hurray:
