Default 2004 Corvette Coupe: Recommended Performance Options?

I'm new to the group, however, I have been lurking for some time - what a wealth of information and knowledge here!

I placed a Factory Order with Becky Davis at Bruce Glueck Chevrolet for a 2004 Corvette Coupe (Medium Spiral Gray Metallic with Light Gray interior: 1SB, F55, and MN6) with a TPW of 21 July! I expect shipment in late August.

There are several basic performance upgrades I plan to perform once it arrives and wanted to receive feedback and recommendations from the group:

Corsa Indy PRC Performance Exhaust
Magnaflow Crossover Pipe
Vararam VR-1B Ram Air
High Flow Power Duct
B&M C5 Ripper shifter
MTI Underdrive Pulley Kit
CAGS Eliminator

What type of horsepower and torque improvements can I expect from these upgrades? I do not plan to perform any major modifications within the next three years, i.e., turbo, supercharger, cams and etc. I may consider them at a later time.

I appreciate your comments and look forward to participating in this group.

Thanks, Mike :flag

The power duct is more for looks than performance. The ripper shifter or any other of the aftermarket shifters can have issues; make sure you are really unhappy with the stock shifter before investing in an aftermarket shifter. Mine isn't so bad that I'm really to trade it off for dealing with the issues of aftermarket shifters. Underdrive pulley I don't recommend on the street; the tradeoff is reduced electrical output from your alternator. :chevy

Since nobody else has chimed in, I'll give you my really rough estimate based on what I've read here. Most of the mods are going to give much, with the air intake probabaly providing the best at maybe 20 rwhp. The exhaust maybe 5 and maybe the same with the under-drive pulley. As I say, I have no direct experience but this is my impression from having read posts on the Forum...which you may also have read if you've been lurking here for awhile.

The Corsa Exhaust might get you 8 RWHP
The Veraram could get you 20 RWHP.
The underdrive pulley will get you about 8 RWHP. I have and underdrive pulley on my car and I have not had any problems.
The I agree with the above statement the Power Duct is mostly for looks.
The cross over pipe is mostly for sound.
I can't comment on the B&M shifter since I have driven a car with a B&M Shifter.

As you can see I'm focusing on having the vette breathe better and waiting till I learn more about the specific improvements made in the 2004 model before making significant financial decisions for performance upgrades and etc.

What type/brand headers have you all had experience with and would recommend? I've been looking at the "Breathless Step Headers". Should I perform this upgrade only if I plan to make major modifications to the engine, or would I realize significant benefits with a stock engine?

I've heard mixed reactions on the forum with regards to the use of Underdrive Pulleys. In addition to making improvements in "breathability" for the intake and exhaust, what is the opinion with regards to the use of a 178 degree thermostat? Can these modifications be made without reprogramming the computer?

What other low cost/intrusive upgrades would you recommend given my initial list of performance items?

Thanks! :hurray:
