Abuse mode
Can anyone explain what it is and how to stop it from kicking in?

ok....simplified....what is abuse mode? The parameters are adjustable in ls1-edit. This is not a tuning question.....just looking for a definition.

Abuse mode - part of "Torque management" (TM). When shifting gears - forward or reverse- at high throttle angles the pcm/TM shuts down four ( 4 or 5 ?) fuel injectors. Disabling TM disables "Abuse Mode".Hope this helps- there is a nice explanation in the shop manual under the PCM heading. :thumbs:

thanks binks. I just toggled it off in ls1-edit....I didnt like getting laughed at when I toasted a stang and 4 of my cylinders shut down....they caught up and were laughing. OH THE PAIN!

The Edit manual suggest setting, MPH at 0 and RPMs at 7000, in abuse mode section. The test won't run since both parameters can't be met at the same time.
