Is there anyway to remove all the trans fluid, including torque converter, in order to switch over to synthetic fluid; without removing the trans? Is there a drain plug in the torque converter?
Would like to switch to synthetic, but can't believe I would benefit unless I was able to remove all fluid, including fluid in the torque converter.
Thanks.
From what I've gathered from various tuners is stick with non-synthetic tranny fluid due to potential slippage issues with using synthetic. Personally I have been running Mobile 1 ATF for about 3 years with no noticeable issues.
I am getting ready to do stall and gears in a couple weeks and plan on doing tranny flush - prob the only way to get all the old fluid out with GM non synth tranny fluid and new filter
The only way is to do a flush with synthetic fluid. It will use a lot of fluid to flush the system. I had them do this when I had the TransGo shift kit installed and it worked great. I use the Mobil 1 ATF.
