LGM G5 X2 Cam only Dyno Results
APE just got done with my dyno tune.
The car has the following mods only. Everything was self installed, only exhaust welding was done by a shop.
LGM G5 X2 Cam (push rods and dual rate springs)
TPIS Headers
Donaldson Blackwing Intake
LS6 Intake Manifold
Cat Deletes
QT Electric Cut Outs
Let me know what you guys think.
It was dynoed on a Mustang Dyno, no dyno tricks, full belts, intake, and exhaust.

Re: LGM G5 X2 Cam only Dyno Results (msuc5vette)
I must say, I was impressed when I heard the numbers MSU put down. We have nearly identical setups aside from headers and MAFs. I obviously have an F-body which has been rumored to dyno higher. I think this should put to rest all of the crap that has been slung at this cam and the numbers it puts down. We did the installs on both cars on our own (dot to dot for those of you who are dreadfully concerned about that) with no "dyno tricks", the cars were run on a Mustang dyno which is rumored to read lower too.
I run SLP headers which suck and we just did his TIPS headers which look 10 fold better. I'm tearing my exhaust off so I can lay down some C5 numbers, I'm jealous!
oh yeah, I only put down 388rwhp
good job tom focker!

Any idea where your A/F was at? I redynoed this weekend, and I put down 385rwhp/361rwtq. Our mods are pretty much the exact same. I was a little lean at about 4500 rpm, and the power dropped and then picked back up.
Our graphs look exactly the same. I will try and post my new one for comparison, and can send you the old ones via e-mail if you want.

Re: LGM G5 X2 Cam only Dyno Results (DaveP)
Congratulations on the nice numbers! Now, slap it on a DynoJet and get even higher numbers. Doesn't the Mustang dyno give lower numbers because it is a true loading dyno, as opposed to the DynoJet which uses a drum to create the inertia load on the car. You may be nicely above 400 RWHP.
Wonder what my RWHP would be if I took my cats off! :D
msuc5vette, do you like the electric cutouts? I have seen a picture of some and the setup looks neat.

nice #'s. Eventhough it peaks at 6400 you are only 8hp away from peak at 6000. I noticed you ran it up to 6700, are you still using the stock rod bolts??
I think it might be time for me to ditch the 224 cam and step up to the X2,,, Just not sure if I want to spin my motor past 6400.

Re: LGM G5 X2 Cam only Dyno Results (sacsrpc)
sacsrpc: I can answer that.. we're on stock everything in terms of bottom end. I forget the exact numbers, but they said you could run the stock rod bolts at 6900rpms for 12 hours straight before they start to stretch. They said they were more than comfortable bumping us up to 6800 or 6900. Neither car was put on an extreme tune, both are considered reliable.

As soon as my wheels sell I am going to be on the phone with LGM. I have been wanting this cam since it first came out, now you guys have me really excited. Did you do the intall yourself? Just wondering how bad it was since I will be doing the labor.

Re: LGM G5 X2 Cam only Dyno Results (cfi_luz)
Yep, we did both cars in my driveway. It took a while longer on the C5 vs the WS-6 because of the steering. MSU posted a writeup on our install notes and anything a C5 guy should know before undertaking this project. I feel it's really easy, it just takes time.

Great, thanks for the post. I will look up the install notes, those will help me a lot. Hopefully I will break the 400 mark since i have ls6, we'll have to see :D

cfi_luz,
I am guessing your car is an 02 Z06with those dyno numbers.

Looks great, with a few more bolt-ons (maybe under drive pulley and Stingers) you would be over 400RWHP. COngrats.

Ben01C5, are you referring to MSUC5's results? if so, he has a 99 C5 with stock LS1 heads. If you're talking about a different car, excuse my ignorance.
