Default Clutch Question

I've got a Ram Clutch set up with Ram Steel Flywheel. I read that people are 0 balancing the setup up. So I called a local machine shop recommended by a friend. The shop wants the crank inorder the 0 balance the Flywheel to the clutch. Does this make sense?

thanks

I would say no - if the engine is internally balanced (it is), and you attach something to it that is balanced (you will) it should be balanced as a unit, shouldn't it? I understand if the engine is externally balanced, as you would throw off the weights attached to the balancer on the front, etc., but not for this application. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

Doing the entire rotating assembly is the best-most don't do it.

If you had your engine balanced and blueprinted the shop would want to do it with the flywheel and clutch assy. It's not absolutely necessary unless you want it "perfect"
