I've had some weird trouble with my aoutomatic tranny with the power I'm making. Anyone else experinecing this? IE: It won't shift till the rev limiter hits first then you have to back off to make it shift. I have TONS donr to the top end and other things but just seems to get worse.
500 crank or rear wheel hp? Whats the peak torque? If its 500 rwhp, in my opinion, it won't last very long... depending on your driving habits of course. FLP makes a nice upgraded tranny... we've installed several with no problems to date. Give us a call if you would like more information and/or a quote for installation :)
:iagree: I am making 500 rwhp and have the FLP Level IV in mine with no problems! It does sound like you may be able to lower your shift points and try that, but if its a stock tranny, and your shift points are already low, it may be slipping when it shifts allowing it to hit the rev-limiter. Call Chuck @FLP he will set you up! http://www.flp2win.com
I have heard that anything above 425hp should be accompanied by some kind of upgrading to the tranny such as the FLP upgrade. Otherwise it will not last very long especially if you are having fun with all that hp..
Like said above it probably needs a rebuild. If you plan on increasing the HP even more and dont mind only 3 gears, check out the yank th400 setup. I have it my car and its awesome , i can throw anything at it and it just begs for more! :steering: http://www.converter.cc
