Default [NEED HELP]Can not get to FOB programing menu????

My computer has lost its memory.
I can not get to the FOB programming menu on the DIC.
It wants me to program the tire pressure sensors.
Problem is I do not have any sensors.
How do I get past the tire pressure learning menus?
Do I have to dig out my old wheels/sensors?

fdupny,
are you sure you're not leaving out a step?
the procedure is in the owner's manual in case you want to review the procedure. it's in features and controls---section 2. in my 98 OM it's page 2-11.

Here are the instructions I follow.

1) Turn on the ignition, but don't start the engine.
2) Press "Reset" button in order to clear any IPC display warning messages.
3) Press and release the "Options" button on the Driver Information Center (DIC) to scroll through the display
options until the IPC display is blank.
4) Press and hold the DIC "Reset" button for 3 seconds until the FOB TRAINING message appears.

I get "TIRE TRAINING" rather than "FOB TRAINING"
I hit reset and it tries to learn the LF wheel.
How do I get past this.
It will not let me get to the FOB training menu. :mad :mad

With a good fob battery installed press both lock and unlock simultaneously, hold until horn beeps, around 7 seconds.

This worked for me...

This is how you resync the FOB when the car and FOB are out of sync.
My problem is the car has lost all knowledge about the FOB.
The car needs to relearn the FOB but wants to relearn the tire sensors first.
I have no sensors for it to learn and can not get out of that menu to go program the FOB.
I am asking if there is anyway to get past the "TIRE LEARNING" menu.
I can not seem to get past it and can not program my FOB. :(

Any codes?
Sounds as though that function is disabled!
There is a data line viewable when using a scan tool to confirm if keyless entry is enabled.
Maybe it would be worth you while to dig up the wheel sensors and relearn them, then see if you can get to the fob program.
If you can't program the wheel sensors, maybe there is another comm problem, possibly the RFA has been disabled.
Explain the comment about "My computer has lost it's memory". Is the keyless entry all that doesn't work?
Check the codes...

fdupny,
i just came from the garage and i'm stumped.
FOB training comes up first.
why the DIC is skipping to TIRE TRAINING on yours is weird.
i don't guess it's receiver related.
you haven't had your computer reflashed or anything have you?
keep us posted.

Yeah mine used to do that also. I have programmed fobs plenty of times.
Now it goes right into the tire training menu.
I had it in the dealer and asked them to deprogram the tire pressure sensors with the TECH2.
I do not have sensors but I used to.
I was told that the option to delete the tire sensors came in 01 with the Z06.
Before that all C5s had sensors so there was never a need to turn it off.
It seems what ever he did he erased the computers knowledge of my sensors and my FOB.
It worked fine when I left it at the dealer.
Now it wants to learn the sensors before it will learn the fob?
F'n GM.
Well if no one knows how to get around this I suppose I will have to dig my old wheels out and retrian the tire sensors.
I just don't want to do this because they are stuffede way in the back of my storage with a few hundred pounds of corvette parts infront of them.
It just seems like a heavy PITA job just to program something that does not even need to be programmed. :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad
Gee I sure am glad I didn't sell the sensors.

They should have the same range as the key fobs do, so you don't have to have them close to the car :)

fdupny,
if i was you i would take it back to the dealer.
it sounds like they deprogrammed the FOB training instead of the tire pressure sensors or both.
it's worth a shot if it keeps you from having to dig out those sensors! :)

I have been trying to get into the "tire training" menu and all I get is the FOB Training. I can't get the tire training menu at all... Here is the steps I did...

1) Turn ignition on
2) Press "Reset" button in order to clear any IPC display warning messages
3) Press and release the "Options" button on the DIC to scroll through the
display options until the IPC display is blank
4) Press and hold the DIC "Reset" button for 3 seconds
5) Press the "Options" button again until TIRE TRAINING message appears
6) Press "Reset" button until the IPC "Learn L Front Tire" message appears in
order to begin the programming
7) Install the J41760 Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) System Programming Tool
(large magnet will do ie. from a stereo speaker) over the left front valve stem
8) The horn will sound, indicating the left front TPM sensor is programmed
(if this takes more than 15 seconds, pull magnet back and try again, it will
give you three tries. Then you must start over)
9) When the horn sounds, proceed to program the next TPM sensor in the
following order as directed by the IPC messages:
-Learn R Front Tire
-Learn R Rear Tire
-Learn L Rear Tire
Programming can be canceled by turning ignition off, waiting 2 minutes with
no sensors being learned, finishing all 4 wheels or through the DIC.

If the programming is canceled with less than 4 sensors learned, it will only
accept the codes programmed up to that point.

OKay, I found the problem why your not getting the FOB training menu. When you get to the Tire training menu, just hit the options button again and the FOB training menu will come up :)

Now I have a question, I got to the tire training menu and I have a magnet to hold in front of the valve but it did not work. Does the magnet have to be strong like a speaker magnet??

nope my BCM computer was all hosed up. it would not let me get past the tire training menu no matter what I did..option button did nothing. I tried everything. Then I reset the computer by pulling the #25 fuse for 15 min. This fixed everything...it even fixed the column lock problem. I sent away for the bypass.
