Thanxs in advance
Try calibrating the air temperature control valves before you do anything else. It's real easy. Pull fuse 27 from the fuse box in the passenger compartment. Turn key on. replace fuse 27. wait until you hear the valves sequencing and the A/C comes on automatically. Turn key off. You're finished. On a 2000 it's unlikely that you need refrigerant unless it's been taken apart. When you turn on the A/C use the auto button.

Check to make sure your battery isn't leaking. There is a vacuum hose right below the battery that is usually the first thing to be eaten by the acid. You PCM and wiring harness follow shortly behind if nothing is done.
