TSB "IGNITION SWITCH // Pull Key, Wait 10 Sec" PLS HELP !!

and Tech-Specialists
Searching through the dephts of the CF Archives, I found the following post from 5/29/2002 of CF Member aka "quenchmasterc5".
Has anybody had a repair done on the ignition switch that addresses the "Pull key, wait 10 seconds" display code.
Condition : when I pull the Ignition Key out of the Ignition Switch and open the drivers door as I would leave the car, the alarm sounds and the seat does not move backwards anymore as otherwise programmed under "Options". It looks (my intuition) as the Ignition Switch might detect that the I-Key would still stick in the I-Switch.
I also tried everything to provoke a Computer-reset (mainly BCM) as f.e. pulling out both the fuses #23 and #25, those contained within the Electrical Center (footwell area), but to no avail. Further, I cleaned and checked both Ignition Keys (resistor pellets, both I-Keys relearned properly) and I applied as well a li'le of the WD40 lub into the Ignition Key Switch - no change of the condition at all.........:cry
Battery state (OPTIMA RED TOP) : still sufficiently loaded (12.2V) and there are NO other signs of any non functional areas.
Reading through the C5 SVC Manuals (mainly volume 3 of 3), I did not discover any assisting diagnostic methods to efficiently follow up the issue (again, NO DTCs).
As always, thanx a bunch for your help. I would appreciate to see the TSB if there is one re C5 Ignition Switch mal function and related Injectors shut-down.
Thanx guys.

That's often indicative of the column lock failure. Below are a couple of links relating to this. The third link is to the Corvette Action Center where you can do some great research via searches in the tech/knowledge base area. You can find all sorts of TSB and recall info and fixes for many other problems.

What a very nice and great surprise YOU give me a feedback here on the C-Forum - and at all, a very helpful one indeed. Nevertheless, I for a good while ago saved the link from CAC within the favorites-register. But given by my own stupidity, I unfortunately did not already checked for some more infos re TSBs to the issue. Good you gave me a wake-up call here.........
BTW : my car goes in for servicing next monday - knowing the GM Campaign re "Steering Wheel Column Lock" was properly executed last year.........let me just hope........:cry .........it's only the Ignition Switch and related.
So, thanks a million, dear Ed for your kind assistance here. This Forum really rocks !! And I hope your info could also serve for the many others searching re the same/comparable issue. I will report the (happy?) outcome here of course.
Please transmit our greetings to Carole. And please expect my latest eMail update/reply within the next coming days.
Joe. .....and again thanks a bunch for your valuable infos !! :seeya :seeya :steering:
New mod is in progress! :steering: :D
Best,
Blackjack :auto:
The new cylinder comes blank, and you have to transfer the key tumblers from your old cylinder to retain your existing key cut :yesnod:

What would one do WITHOUT such a brilliant CORVETTE-Forum and without such great Comrades :smash:  :smash:  :)
REM : I unfortunately do not live in the holy CORVETTE-Land !! :blueangel:
After servicing of my Car, scheduled next week, I for sure will deliver some feedback of the outcome. The holy GM-Ghost be with me..........
The very best to you all and again thanks a bunch.
