I am considering getting this shifter. I really like the fact that you can adjust where the shifter will be. I need it to be an inch or two forward. Anyone have one or know of someone with it.
I am personally very happy with it. I think the throws are fairly short and very accurate. It took a little time to get used to, slightly notchy but not bad. Mine does rattle a little bit with the hardbar shift ****, but nothing unbearable.
It's really a matter of personal taste. If you want to move the shift position back (away from the dashboard), the BPP will give you a lot of options. There is not much room for a forward move, especially with a long **** like the Hardbar. I tried to use the angled forward setting with BPP's standard shaft and did not have enough clearance with the temp **** on the dash to shift with my racing gloves on. I don't know if the angled shaft would work better for a forward move. I found the lateral spring load to be very strong, even with the lightest supplied springs, and I was used to using a Ripper. However, the springs are very easy to switch, and I am currently experimenting with some springs I picked up at the hardware store (and cut to fit) with a lighter load. The BPP is very quiet compared to the way my Ripper was before I added weights to the shaft. However, all in all, I would give the Ripper the nod. I may change my mind after more experience with the BPP and maybe another change or two in the spring load.
Guys, am getting ready to install my BPP shifter and had a question; in addition to the angled spacer there is another reddish-brown spacer of sorts with holes that align with those of the shifter handle; anybody know where this goes? Could it be this is installed to reduce vibration coming up the shifter? Appreciate your responses and thanks.

I think that's to reduce vibration. They didn't come with the shifter when I ordered mine, but I got one later. I'm not 100% sure where to put it, so I've left it off for now.
Overall, I'm very happy with the shifter. It's position is perfect, and I find the throws to be short and crisp. It does take some getting used to, however.
