I just removed all the center console to replace my CD HU.
When driving, I notice alots of hot air coming out from the plastic shifter boot underneath the leather boot so I thought this is from outsite. But when turn on the A/C, the air is cold.
So does anyone know where is the air actually coming from?
Re: Air coming out from MN6 shift boot (mike76002)
On the passenger side of the tunnel is an A/C vent, intended to blow A/C on the passenger's legs. The vent has a plastic bezel, the vent is maybe 2 inches in dia. near where the passenger's knee would be. The hose from the A/C plenum box probably has popped off the bezel. The bezel pops off easily and the hose just shoots cold A/C under the carpet up through the console area.
As for the hot air, that's you LS1 cookin' up front. The air enters the front of the tunnel and then it blows through the area that the rubber shifter boot normally covers.
Let me know if that was it...
