Tranny Cooler or Trans shift kit???
we installed a pt2400 stall and a 3.42 rear end. and it was suggested that due to the extra slippage from the higher stall that the tranny will heat up more, and should consider installing a tranny cooler. so of all you A4 guys what route do i need to go? i know everyone says the shift kit is a must mod, however the main concern is to protect the life of tranny, which will protect it better, and do i need one at all. the car is a daily driver, seeing autocrosses 3-5 times a year, 1 driver education / road race event, and 3 trips to the dragstrip.

Heat kills tranny's. A cooler is cheap insurance and easy to install. Pep Boy's has all you need or you can go more expensive routes. They all do the same thing. I have done a bunch of them over the years and have had no problems with leaks, etc.
