Rear axle boot split .. grease everywhere ..
Just washing the car whenI noticied grease and a lot of it all over the inside of right rear wheel , as well as all over the brake line .. took wheel off and noticied a 1/2 slit on the boot for the rear axle .. car seems fine .. not throwing any codes but I need to drive 20 miles to chev dealer ,, any have this happen to them .. and is it okay to drive ? .. :confused: ..Joe

Only solution from GM is to replace that whole portion of the half shaft I believe.. Same thing happened to my car.. We just took some silicone and sealed the boot up and its been almost two years now and no problems so far!! You have to watch those boots when you install over-the-axle pipes of a cat-back exhaust system as it is real easy to slice them.

:iagree: Same thing happened to mine. Didn't realize it till I took mine to the tuner. All fine now. I had the whole left rear half shaft replaced
