FLPs: How much horsepower/torque difference WITH vs. WITHOUT cats?
I should have dynoed with and without but failed to do so. Instead, I dynoed without only. I am wondering how much horsepower/torque I will lose if I go with the stock rear exhaust and the cats that come with the FLP kit.
Any info. based on dyno results would be greatly appreciated.

My car dropped very little after installing the cats that came with the FLPs...428 to 426 Hp and 401 to 396 Tq. These numbers are with Corsa Indys. Also, the stock cat-back should take back ~5 Hp from what I've seen on a couple heads/cam cars.

This may sound whack, but I LOST 15 RWHP when I took the cats out and put the race pipes in. The pulls were on the same day and on the same dyno, no more than 1/2 hour apart. It was done at Ed Wrights place (FastChip) in Tulsa. Ed said that he had a similar experience when he gutted the cats in his Firebird.

You probably needed some additional programming for making a drastic change like !cats. You were probably running too rich immediately after removing the cats. Either the computer needs some more time to re-learn or you just need to dyno tune it without the cats.
Re: FLPs: How much horsepower/torque difference WITH vs. WITHOUT cats? (camarodoctor)
I have reprogrammed my computer (LS1 edit w/ autotap) with and without cats and I always run optimal a/f ratio after tuning with a wideband dyno.
In case my post wasn't clear, here's what I want to know, with the stock rear exhaust and the FLPs (and standard bolt-ons - pulley, airbox, ported tbody, tstat, etc), what is the horsepower difference (assuming you set your a/f ratio at 12.9 accross the board on with both setups with stock timing).
Again, I failed to dyno with and without when I had the stock rear exhaust. I only dynoed without the cats with the stock rear. I later dynoed with a different rear exhaust.
With the aftermarket rear exhaust, my power levels with and without cats are not going to be the same as with the stock rear exhaust.
No one has answered my question exactly, but I take it from some of the above posts that I will lose a few horse and a few foot pounds of torque (probably less than 10 of each) by going with cats, FLPs, and the stock rear, versus going without cats and still using the FLPs with the stock rear. If that is the case, I can live with that if it means a quieter ride and no funny smell. However, if it is gonna mean 20-30 horse, forget it, I'd rather have a loud car.
