Just had Andy's mod put on today and I'm pleased with the results. Standing behind the car the exhaust is louder but not obnoxious. It's still sounds like a motor boat but an angry motor boat. I'm getting some popping, guess it always did that but the mufflers hid it. I think it sounds cool. Especially gearing down to a stop. Inside the car there is very little difference. I was hoping it wouldn't be too loud inside-daily driver. The guy did a nice job installing them-charged me $50-cheap. I haven't noticed any increased HP but the sound is easily worth the $110 total I spent. if you are considering an exhaust mod you might want to give this a try.
This is a great mod if you don't want to spend the dollars for a complete cat-back system. I had it on my 2000 FRC and it did make a big difference. Very good bang-for-the-buck mod.
I had the A&A mod to my stock exhaust. Had it on there for about 3 years.
I grew tired of the drone I was getting at about 2200 rpm's. I also found the exhaust note to be too sharp in tone. It sounded best at WOT.
A very cost effective mod but lacking the refinement of some aftermarket systems.
I now have the Z06 Ti exhaust and for me it has the perfect blend of tone, volume without the cabin resonance.

I love the mod! I did everything myself so the whole thing cost ~$15 and it sounds SO much better. The stock exhaust was way too tame. I agree that many of the $800 cat backs may sound better but I can't justify that amount just for sound and maybe 2-5 HP.
You think its quiet from inside but you need to have someone drive by you while you're just standing on the sidewalk. It's pretty loud!
An x-pipe will help to get rid of the popping if you don't like it. I personally do.
