Dead on the road!
Took the wife out for a ride tonight, top down oldies blasting, about 15 minutes into the drive she dies, the car not my wife :cry Cranks over and runs for about 5 seconds and quits :mad AAA gets her home and I do a quick fuel pressure test. Key On 30# at the fuel rail, crank it over, it starts pressure drops to 10# and dies.
Tell me it something simple, right :yesnod:
Thanks
Found the problem, when I changed the rear I forgot to properly tighten the ground for the fuel pump. As soon as I tighten it down the pressure went up to 60 PSI.
What year is your car? Back when I had starting problems alot on my 99' it turned out to be a leaking positive post on the ol' delco battery. Leaks onto the main pcm, wires and lines bellow it and causes all kinds of misread codes. Have you pulled your codes yet? Bad fuel filter? Injectors need cleaning?

Its a 99 vert, 20K miles, battery replaced 6 months ago with an Optima. No codes were available. Could be the Filter! I replaced the rear-end on Friday, installed 3.42 gears, put on about 40 miles testing the gears, everything was fine, until last night. I'll check over everything I did Friday, but its a fuel problem for sure.
Have you tried cleaning the injectors? Chevron with Tectron is cheap at Walmart and is the same thing GM puts out, great stuff. If you have to replace you fuel filter/pump unit it's alittle less than $60.
I was wondering if this was a recent problem since you did the rearend work. Maybe you could have accidentally pulled off a vacuum line or left an 02 sensor apart to make the pcm ajust the fuel or something when removing the exhausts.

Found the problem, ground wire I did not tighten after the install. As soon as I tightened the nut the fuel pressure went up to 60 PSI.
