What is different about them?? I have 97 and want to buy headers from someone with an 01, what if anything has to be changed to allow them to work on a 97? Thank you, i tried searching but no luck sorry if it has been asked.
Depends if you are talking shorty headers, or long tubes.
LT's primary difference is the AIR flange location and dipstick mounting. Precats or not makes no difference as the long tubes connect just in front of the main cats. If you have precats, they will be gone anyways.
Shorty headers are designed to bolt up to the stock flange, and in addition to the changes noted above, the angle and location of the factory flange is different. It would take a bit of work to get the flanges to mate up to the wrong year header.
Shorties don't offer much for gains anyways, I wouldn't waste the time installing even the correct year headers.
Sorry for the incomplete post, they are Long Tubes and for the 01. I have a 97, so AIR is on the wrong side? Can that be fixed, or changed or something? I will not be using emisions equipment so cats will not be relavent. But this is probably more work then I thought it would be.
