Acid Leak Repaired
I really want to thank all you guys for the advice concerning my acid leaky 2K coupe battery. I caught the problem just in time. There was plenty of acid corrosion but none on the harness or PCM. I used acid neutralizer first then scrubbed the entire area w/bicarb and water. Removing the access panel beneath the car is a must. Is above all the electronics really the best place to store a couple-a-pounds of hydrochloric acid. Anyhow, I used rust converter on the etched frame and even found some paint (Coronado oil base satin w/rust preventer) that has a similar texture to the factory finish. And of course a Red Top. I literally could not have done this job w/o the help of you guys on the forum. Thanks again. :hurray:

lucky you. i did not catch mine soon enough. the acid ate away a vacuum line (not covered by warranty) and the dealer said that the engine wiring harness looks pretty bad. the harness is alegedly a $2,000 repair. i am going to start looking for a used one.
