A/C Evaporator Flook
Check that the drain hose behind the battery was not clogged. It wasn't. Made sure that the hose directing the water away from the fan wasn't clogged.
Not sure where else to check for the blockage. Need help before drowning
Most likely your a/c evaporator drain tube is clogged, causing condensate water to back-up and overflow the evaporator. This happened to my 1999 C5 coupe while I was driving out-of-state, on vacation. The water seeped into the computer compartment in the right footwell and into the computer. It ruined the computer and immobilized my car.
You must remove the a/c drain tube (90 degree rubber elbow) by raising the right front of the car. It is attached to a hard plastic tube on the firewall, behing the right engine head. Clean out the tube (usually clogged with white, crusty material) and cut off the end of the tube. The end is moulded into a shape about the size of a split pea. It does not drain fast enough during humid weather and is prone to clogging.
You must clear this tube while the engine is cool. There is not much room to work, but it is not very hard. You should also remove your right seat (easy) and carpet/pad (easy) - to dry out the carpet/pad. You will be amazed at how much water soaks into the carpet/pad.
Good luck. This is one of many design defects on the C5.
