WOW! This thing rocks the quick shift into 2nd lets just say I will need some tires. If you have been on the fence let me push you over. I give it   up.
Just ordered the Trans-go shift kit today. What level is everyone going with when they install these (street show off, heavy duty, pro street, or full race)?.. or what might be best with my mods?
How many hours is a transgo install take? Not something I'd try to do myself! ...gmf
A competant trans tech will have the job done in 3-4 hours..cost should be in the $170-$200 range..NOT a job for the weekend mechanic. Lot's of little springs, valves and washers..some drilling of the feedholes too. Most of the installs have been with 2 washers in the accumulator valve assemble for a great strip/street setup.....SMILES GUARANTEED!!
Greatest mod for an automatic. Changes that whole performance of the vette.
If you have a 2001 or newer you need to have the Traction Management turned off in the computer. Also have the shifrt point changed to shift 1 to 2 at 14mph. This will make street driving a little less harsh. Do not increase line pressure. Before I hac mine turned off I keep getting a slow down on the shift because of the traction management. :flag
I did my own with the video from transgo. I took my time and it took about
8 hours. I first dropped the pan and let the valve body and all the solenoids
drain overnight. This makes the job a little less messy to remove. There are some tools that make it a lot easier. If anyone is going to do it themselves, I can give you the list. Its a great mod without the torque managment!
