Does anyone have sound clips of their cam only cars? I would like to here what they sound like. If you do can you please post what type of cam you used?
Secondly, Is there any cam on the market that gives you the same gains as the G5-x2 cam? Is 999.99 a good price for what is included in the kit? Is there another cam I can buy that will give me the same gains for less money? Thanks, kaley
I just installed an MTI Stealth cam in my Y2K hardtop. I don't have a sound clip but I can tell you that it really woke up my engine. Idle is very close to stock but has an ever so subtle lope to it...sounds really cool with my GHL exhaust. What all is in the kit you are referring to?
vstella, will that cam work w/ my stock heads. I love the sound of that. What all will I need to use that cam if I am able to use my stock heads? Who can I use for a mail order tune? Thanks, Kaley

Our kit also includes upgrading the valvetrain - double springs, pushrods, retainers, and seats.
If there is enough interest we may run the forum special of 899.00 for the kit again.

I'm interested...how much more $ to go ahead and make the heads stage 2?

Well I guess you could use it with a stock head setup although there will be some tuning issues..You really should consider a set of modified heads ..you will be leaving some serious H.P./TQ on the table and the LS1 Edit is certainly a must when installing a larger cam with A/F ratios and idlling issues.. :chevy

Re: A few cam only questions...... (2C5only21)
If the G5X-2 cam is not your cup of tea, we have plenty of others that perform very well, and our cams have set the high water mark for the past year. Right now, the broad range, as well as the peak hp of the G5X-2 is the cam to beat. And it can be installed directly into a stock engine with just the addition of springs and pushrods. With no piston to valve issues at all.
We have a number of different cams. The G5X-2, G5X-1 G5, G2 and our baby cam which was our early G2 cam. The duration ranges from 221* to 240*, and we can supply any split or duration that would fit your requirements.
I will also advise you based upon your goals.
Search here, on the Forum, and LS1tech.com - Lou's G5 X2 has received great reviews by all users and dyno #s are excellent! Best PROVEN cam going with very streetable manners. :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: Just my $.02
