How fast are the 03 Z06?

How fast are the 03 Z06?
I met a guy at the track the other day and has a 03 that is bone stock that runs 11.8. That the normal for that car to be that fast? He said he did a air filter upgrade is all.

In "as delivered from the factory stock" I went
1.85 60' / 11.933@114.52
Pulling the airbox lid off (stock box, and stock filter though) and bolting on a set of ET Streets.
1.675 60 ' / 11.596@118.53

Chevrolet's published times for a 2001 Z06 are 12.6@114.
They have top drivers, best conditions, and plenty of practice, how is it so many people can beat their times?
Wishful thinking? I watched a number of Z06's last weekend, high 12s and low 13s 110-114.

I assume that you know the 01 z06 cranks out 385 ponies and the 02 and 03 Z06s crank out 405 ponies! :yesnod: THat 20 more horespower=.2 tenths quicker in the 1/4 mile as a general rule of thumb! :cheers:
