Well I finally got the clutch out and dont know what to think. I am goign to call Ram monday morning to see if they are going to warranty it as it seems like a defect. BTW this clutch only has 2k miles on it

The wire is the retaining wire for the diaphram spring. After the retaining wire broke the clutch didnt want to hold drove it(50') to put it on a lift and and than it was loaded up on the flat bed. It slipped alot getting it on the lift.

I got all kinds of strang looks from the service rep and tech when they pulled my trans out recently... tons of metal in the fluid... clutch was hammered... :smash:
:blueangel: I never raced... power shifted... speed shifted or rode the clutch... never even drove past a track.... :blueangel:
"Wow... I don't know how that happened... " "Did it come that way from the factory... it looks defective..."
Not to over sell the Cartek clutch but I have yet to see any other clutch stay together with heavy HP! The SPEC's are crap and so are the RAM clutches. I can understand why these guys can't make a decent clutch for these cars!
not to bash anyone but every clutch has had a problem including the one from Cartek. I believe once you get to some serious HP your going to run into problems. If they call it a defect and replace it I will be happy.

WTF!
I have seen Cartek clutchs take a dump to so it's all relative. My spec has held over 700 crank HP on CCW drag slicks with 4-5k dumps. I have had this clutch for about a year and the only complaint I have is occasional chattering. I do not think a perfect clutch exists for our c5's.
In attempting to find the right launch rpm, I dumped the clutch at various rpms from 3500 to 5500 after a burnout on ET Steets.
Guess what, the Cartek clutch held together. It does not drive like a stock clutch and sometimes makes a funny noise when I try to slip it out, but at the track, it takes whatever abuse I throw at it (a little less than 500 rwhp).
