I ran 275/40 BFG DR's on 1999 C5 front "wagon" rims (17X8.5" I believe)
I pulled plenty of low 1.7's. Best ET with that tire was 11.74.
I later switched to a 315/35 BFG on a 17X11 Zr1 rim and my 60fts dropped to around 1.65. I did end up getting my best "pre-cam" time of 11.69 on the ZR1 setup, but my trap speeds dropped slightly from the 275/40 wagon setup. Rolling resistance and weight definitely factor in for the traps.
I run them on my WS6 wheels and they stick fine since my car is not generally a hard launcher ;) (check sig for gears lol )
I used to run them on my T/A till I got real wild but I couldnt get better than low 1.7 60's out of em unless the track was REAL sticky.
If you like to launch hard ET Streets or Hoosier QTPs are the best bet. You can just play with air pressure to get best results, some people don't need a full slick so they keep em aired up to 30psi and they are still better than a DR but wont bog you too bad.
