I'm going to have the car up in the air a lot in the coming weeks though I haven't jacked it up before. I've seen jacking pucks that some of the venders are selling.
Re: Jacking up the car... do I need pucks? (MacMan)
If you are going to put it on a lift, jacking pucks should be used. There are 4 points in the bottom of the groud effect under the rocker panel for jacking with a lift.
On the other hand, they are not really necessary when jacking from the subframe. I've seen cars properly jacked several times without a hint of a mark on their underside.

Jacking pucks are the best way to go although I have used a block of wood for many years on the rocker panels without a problem.
I recently purchased 2 hockey pucks which work really well. Cost $1 each.

If you get some rocker rails (I believe that's what he calls them) from Andy at A&A Corvettes, you don't have to worry about jacking it up by the rocker panels---or even if you're not around and someone else jacks it up.
If you use a floor jack and place in on a cross-member you don't need any pucks but my floor jack is just a bit too tall so I use Frederik's little jack to initially jack it up and then use the floor jack.
