Ive seen a couple of threads here on the forum asking whether or not the bilstein sport shocks are a good replacement for the standard shocks (Caddilac ride shocks) with the base springs and swaybars.
I just had a set of them installed on my 2001 Convertible, equiped with the FE1 base suspension, and I have to say that the bilstein shocks perform very well in this setup. It firmed up the ride quite a bit, and it feels much more steady at higher speeds than it was before. (in excess of 150 mph, the car started feeling 'loose' with the FE1 shocks, and now it feels rock steady )
Next thing is Z06 sway bars... Damn, I think I got the same fever as the rest of the forum now. One upgrade hasnt even settled and a new one is already lined up
I went from the FE1 to Bilsteins and T1 sway bars. The ride change is amazing. My car is on rails now and before my ride was poor. The T1 front sway bars appeared to be 3 times the size of the FE1 sway bar.
Anything is an improvement over the FE1 sway bars. You will enjoy the difference.
