ST 3500 for BOTH street and track...or...if you know that you are going to be modding in the future, just go directly to a PT 4200 or even a 4500. Talke to "Father Mike" at YANK. He will know!
Since my car is way more street than strip I went with the Yank
SY3500. I replaced the 2.73's with 3.42's too and had the PCM
re-done and then added the TransGo shift kit.
It's very driveable for both stop and go city traffic and highway
speeds. Mine is not a daily driver, but when I do drive it, my
area is a street grid of lights and 45mph. Just last month I
drove it from Florida to Virginia and back for 2500 round trip
miles doing highway speeds on I-95 of 70-90 at times. Still
pulled around 24-27 miles per gallon.
I've been to the strip once with the current set-up and this
was with my old and tired GY run-flats. I was running 13.4-
13.5 previously and now run 12.7's. I'm sure 12.6 is possible
now that the run-flats are gone with non's GY GS-D3's.
I'm quite satisfied with my set-up and there is quite a few
others who have the exact same set-up.
One option is to keep the higher gears and do a converter with a higher STR. Like the ST-3500 or even a Vig3200. The higher STR will make the car tighter off the line and still streetable. It will also allow you to maintain good gas milage.
the st has a harder hitting punch off the line. sy is more of a street /strip t/c. if you will be running bfg's or nitto drag radials the st is the one . i love mine. go to http://www.converter.cc/ thats yanks web site they will explain str.

Yank 3500, I have the SY. I like the lower str, When you nail it, it doesnt slam the tires as hard. My friend has the same car, year, mods, identical other than color. He has the ST. We run each other and I always get him from the line. I grab a little than him. I have GY GS-D3s, he has Nittos. Dont forget to get it reprogrammed, and ditch the TMS.
