"Active handling system warming up" message in DIC
I was autoXing and noticed the message "Active handling system warming up" in the DIC on my '00 FRC after a few runs and the car was pretty warm. What the hell does that mean? (Active handling was shut off)

my 02 does the same thing after setting out in the hot sun all day but never does it when the car has been in a cool place. there is a computer glitch that a reflash at the dealer will cure this. :chevy

Amazingly, you'll find information about this mysterious message in, of all places, your owner's manual.
Dude, that was kind of sarcastic
Anyway, I got the same message on my 2001 C5 Coupe only once & that was after being in a parking garage all day  It has not happened since, so I'm not going to worry about it.

I have had this meesage also. It turned out to be a bad steering wheel position sensor. This sensor at the base of the steering column swings 0 to 5 volts and back to 0 for every 90 degrees of rotation. When the car is started, it is looking for 2.5 volts for a period of time. If it does not see it, it will display active handling warming up. If you drive for a long enough time, it will eventually generate a P1281 code.
