A GM Tech told me he was able to take a Z06 VIN and reprogram his Vert 6sp for greater shift points and better overall performance. He did say that his fuel mileage went way down. Can anyone respond and tell me that there are benefits to reprogramming my vert 6sp to Z06 specs? I know the rev limiter will increase and that I would need to watch the increased RPMs so as to not damage the LS1 Engine.

Shift point is terminology used with automatic transmissions.
Z06s do not have an automatic transmission option.
Raising your rev limiter with no other changes is useless IMHO and may well lead you to some trouble down the road.
I have no clue as to why the fuel mileage went WAY down. When I ported my heads, added a more aggressive cam and opened up the breathing on my car, my mileage increased by 28-30%.
