TIRE Schraeder Valve Thread Size
Does anyone know the thread size MM or inch for the schreader valves used in tires. I need to know and cannot find it listed anywhere. thanks in advance. tom

Well, I need to know what the thread pitch is in mm or in. I do not have that size in my tool kit or tap set. any help is appreciated. tom

7.7 mm OD
32 tpi, or 0.794 mm pitch
Minor diameter is 6.9
Thread designation is .305-32 or 7.7-32
A 5/16-32 nut might fit...if you could find one. Those are pretty rare as well.

Looks like the specs for the nut and outside of stem to me.

Well...after relooking at it you are probably right FLYINBRIAN...thanks for the heads up on that...I will keep looking....maybe someone will chime in...if not maybe the TireRack or supplier can answer my needs. tom

Okay, hang on, the inside thread for the valve stem core is a 0.209 x 36. Both are UNS 60 degree forms.
It's close to a 7/32-36 UNEF screw.
I always think about the outside first. That's what I bugger up.
BTW, you're not having any luck with web searches because you're mis-spelling "Schrader". Probably. Keywords are: Shrader Valve Stem Thread Pitch and you get a link to the Engineering Forum at Eng-Tips.com.
