Predator Fan Settings... is this right?
After reading some posts about the Predator with its FAN1 and FAN2 settings being reversed, I went to check mine out... I think its right, but I just want to make sure... I'm running the stock t-stat so my current settings are:
FAN 1 ON: 209 OFF: 200
FAN 2 ON: 219 OFF: 210
With this setting, the low fans kick in at exactly 209 degrees. Which is right.... right?
For the heck of it, I reversed the fan settings with the Predator to the following settings:
FAN 1 ON: 219 OFF: 210
FAN 2 ON: 209 OFF: 200
With this setup, NO fans came on at 209 degrees and only the high fans turned on at 219 degrees. This is wrong... right?
Someone please let me know if I'm on the right page...
Tnx,
Rich
Your first program is correct. Hope this helps. BTW, have you dynoed since you installed the Predator? I was very dissapointed with mine. Just curious. :banghead:
I have no clue who James is. We got our predators from RPM in Fort Collins, Colorado with the understanding that we could have them customized if we added more mods . The vendor told us he had seen up to forty horses from a base program. Take this for what it's worth.
I'm very interested in feedback on the Predator too. I just got mine and of course uploaded the "Performance Tune" but have yet to run it. Any other info here? Do you have anything on interfacing the Predator with a PC via the serial cable to load the entire profile onto the PC for eval?
Thanks!

RWTD is James' handle here on the forum... He runs Runnin' With The Devil... one of the largest Predator distributers around... (sorry for sounding like an advertisment, here's url... http://www.runninwiththedevil.com/) Anyway, he also supplies custom tunes and his customer service is fantastic... as far as forty horses out of the Predator... I'd be very very surprized... :skep:
There is software that runs on the pc, but it's main use is for uploading and downloading custom tunes via email, which you'll need a rs232 9pin cable and power adapter... however, I doubt you can view the tune with that program... I suggest giving James a shout...
Richie, thanks. I have emailed James @ RWTD. If he's half as good everyone says, I'll be happy. After some more research here on the forum, James is obviously a stand-up guy. Thanks for the help!!!!!
