best, intake system? (rookie question)
ok i'm very new to vette ownership.
i would like to ''let it breathe'' a lil bit.
i have no plans to mod the car any further that the intake,,
and down the road,,, the exhaust. ;)
if i wanna ''kick azzz'' i'll do it on one of my bikes..
so bearing this in mind.. what should i buy for better air supply?
i know there are many brands, n' types of systems!!!!
i just want a ''good'' one..
don't know if i need ''ram air'' or not?? i KNOW,,, it works on my bikes..
but read,,, it is a waste on a car.. (true,,, errr not???)
so what should i spend my money on ?
is there a ''kit'' that has all the parts i need?
(post a link, if you can?)
THANKS...............

Blackwing is simple. Vortex is also decent.

Re: best, intake system? (DS)
Ya my #1 choice for performance would be Vararam but its a PITA to install and I dunno if he wants to go through that.

On the left side of the home page for this forum, click on " C5 Items" under the Corvette Mall heading. Then click on "Intakes". This will take you to a page of vendors who have all the different intakes for sale. I first bought the RM Racing Twin Flow Intake, and changed to the Vortex. The Vortex is a very good intake. It draws cold air from outside the engine compartment. It does require cutting the radiator shroud, but it comes with a template and is easy to do. I noticed a guy with one for sale in the Used C5 Parts section yesterday for $150.00. The Vararam is more money, and a little harder to install. The difference between the two, and others is debated all the time here. The important thing is, get rid of the stock unit ! Good luck.

Blackwing! :steering:
And, hopefully they're still running the special: if you get it directly from Upfronttechnologies.com (manufacturer), you can save some money.
