When cold starting, engine revs to 1500 rpm, then gradually reduces to 900 rpm over about 15 secs. Then 200-400 rpm pulsing occurs for about 30 secs. As engine warms, rpms reduce to normal 600 rpm. This started occurring after cleaning and re-oiling the filter (bottom breather) followed by a custom tune using LS1-edit. I have since replaced the filter with a Blackwing and cleaned the MAF sensor but the problem is still there. Any ideas what is causing this? Could the custom tune be the culprit? Appreciate your comments.
I would carefully check for vacuum leaks at the MAF or intake bellows which would cause your symtoms :yesnod: If not,I would assume that it is a programming issue...
Too much oil on a K&N filter will coat the maf wires and cause that problem. Carefully inspect the maf and clean the wires with electrical spray contact cleaner if they have an oil residue on them. :cheers:
Thanks to both of you. I assumed it might be caused by over-oiling and have cleaned the MAF - but problem is still there. I will look closer for vacuum leaks and then reflash to stock to see if that solves it. Thanks again.
