2004 Battery is Top Post!
Just back from NCRS convention in Hershey. GM had a 2004 LeMans Blue coupe there. Could get real close and look it over. The new battery is a top post, maintenance free, with green Delco Eye!! GM going back to old style it seems to get away from side posts leaking?? Go figure.

That is interesting :yesnod: The fact is that the 2001-03 AGM glass mat battery has had a high failure rate,even though it does not leak,and has not been what it was cracked up to be...GM has requested every one back that I have replaced,and I have replaced many...Maybe they know something that we dont ;)

Yeah, go figure, it's the last year for the C5. I guess 1 out of 8 good years is acceptable for GM. I replaced my battery in my 02 within months of purchase and from what I read on the forum it was a very smart move to prevent damage to the wiring/computer.

I heard the same thing. I think it is due in part to the high failure rate of the present battery. The leaks are a very costly warranty item.
