I haven't checked the fuse, but i have a feeling it's the sensor in the tranny b/c the lights come on when i press the FOB to unlock or lock the doors.

Switch is located on the trans. Shouldn't be too hard to change out if necessary. For the price of a new switch, check with Bob or Tom at Fichtner Chev (forum vendor).

Mine was replaced under warranty several years ago and I was able to wait on it at the dealership. There have been some others folks on here that have experienced the same thing. If you're able to install a skip shift bypass, then this shouldn't be much worse than that at all. I don't have my shop manual here with me now so I don't remember if it's on the pass. or driver's side of the tranny. It's an unplug the wiring/unscrew the old unit/screw in the new unit/re-plug the wiring connector sort of deal.
