when u buy the c5r engine for like i think it's around 6k or something like that, is there anything else u have to put to drop that engine in? also how much power do you put out with that engine, i was thinking of geting a 97 vette and having about 9k or so to spend on it and dropping that engine in. Also does anyone have any pictures of this engine installed so i can see what it will look like?
Most shops usually charge around $25000 for a complete C5r long block using LS6 heads. I know MMT in the DFW area is looking to do one for research for only $18000 and their regular price after that will be $22,000.
Oh and with a proper sized cam, it should put out around 525rwhp.
You can purchase a "real" street version of the C5R motor directly from Katech, the outfit that developed and built it for GM, for $27,000 complete.
What is in the motor that costs so much, especially if it's using LS6 heads? If the bare block costs $6k, that means the crank/pistons/rods/bearings/rings/fasteners + assembly costs $16k? Thats some expensive ****.
