My 2000 Vert. has a starting problem.. car WILL fire up for a second or two then shuts down. Dealer has replaced a BCU and still no help! They have had my car for a week and have jacked me around so I'm having it moved to another dealer in the a.m. They say they know whats wrong. ANYBODY had this hard start problem before??? :mad
Re: Dealer stumped.. Hard start problem. (Popclutch)
Your computer is modified by virtue of having used the hypertech. You are also running several intake mods that have leaned out the car. I would recommend you get your car away from the goobers at chevy and take it to get a dyno tune....this is a certain fix. You're also due for top engine cleaner from GM.

I had a similar situation. My engine would turn over but would not fire up. It turned out to be a broken ground wire connecting the fuel rail to the back of the head on the motor (driver's side).
My mechanic diagnosed it by checking the fuel pressure in the fuel rail and noticed it was way below 50 psi.
